The U.S. offshore wind industry is experiencing a period of rapid growth and development. For example, East Coast states have committed to purchasing 40 G.W. of offshore wind by 2040. California has a target of 10 G.W. by 2045, and the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management is moving ahead with a Request for Information in the Gulf of Mexico.
Last but not least, the Biden Administration has made firm commitments to the sector, including moving forward with numerous permitting reviews and multiple lease awards.
As a result, enormous opportunities exist for Danish sub-suppliers to assist in building the U.S. supply chain that will put steel in the water over the coming years.
To capitalize on this opportunity, it is essential to understand the priorities of an Administration that are focused on jobs for Americans employed in U.S. factories and businesses. To succeed, Danish companies must adapt their European experience to deal with this reality.
