Groundwater & Environment
In recent years, the focus on sustainable groundwater management has increased. Across the states, ambitious regulations are in place. Now, it is time to take action, and Danish companies have the opportunity to be a part of the journey.
Water scarcity is an increasing issue in the U.S. With a growing population, unsustainable consumption, severe droughts and lowering water levels, it is time to take action. Over the years, the public focus on groundwater management has increased, and the legislative authorities demand more sustainable groundwater programs.
Market Opportunities
Through decades of tight regulations, Danish utilities, wastewater treatment plants, universities and companies have enabled innovative and advanced methods to optimize groundwater and environment programs and solutions tremendously.
Even though the U.S. is much larger country and market than Denmark is, the states are facing many of the same challenges with water management as Denmark. Thus, the expertise, technology, and solutions from Danish companies are now in high demand within areas such as:
- Groundwater and water protection programs
- Data management, modelling and data driven decision making
- Geophysical mapping
- Monitoring and testing
- Water protection and clean up (PFAS/PFOS, nutrients, nitrate, pesticides, ammonia etc.)
Government to Government Partnerships Are Boosting the Development
Government to government partnerships are one of the great tools that has boosted the sustainable development over the years. In 2017, California and Denmark signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on water to promote increasing knowledge sharing, technology and collaboration on areas of mutual interest related to groundwater management.
The close collaboration has increased the interest in innovative high-quality solutions from Danish companies, and the advisors of the Groundwater and Environment Team aim to bridge the gap between the U.S. stakeholders and their Danish counterparts.
With a great focus on knowledge sharing, flagship project and hands-on collaboration, the Water and Environment Team is ready to assist Danish companies seeking to expand or enter the U.S. Market.
